Dividend reinvestment
Each quarter, the Board of Trustees may elect to declare a Stock Dividend on INREIT Common Shares. These dividends may be paid, if authorized by the Board, in common shares, cash or a combination of both, at the election of each shareholder.
Here's how it works:
Shareholders who elect to receive their dividend in stock, do so at a 5% discount from the current asking price. They will receive a quarterly statement indicating the dividend amount paid, number of shares received and the price per share.
We also provide annual 1099-DIV forms to shareholders, showing reportable income for tax purposes. It is possible with reportable depreciation that the taxable income could be reduced. Because of the impact of depreciation, a part of our dividend may be tax sheltered. You should consult your tax professional regarding your personal situation.
There are no broker fees in connection with dividends paid to our shareholders.
